We were proud, but not surprised, to see Matthias's name feature in the shortlist for this year's Grads in Games Impact Award.
Matt first came to Atomhawk on a work placement in 2016 during his MA in Concept Art at Teesside University before joining full-time as a Junior Artist. During his time as an intern he impressed with not only his artistic ability, but also with his overall attitude, quickly establishing himself as a valuable member of the team.
In his first six months with us he made significant contributions to a wide range of projects and styles with highlights including concept and motion graphic design for Injustice 2 and marketing artwork for LEGO.
Since then, he has helped shape new workflows and technical pipelines for clients, as well as taking an active role in training members of the team in areas including 3D and hard-surface modelling and texturing.
As a result, Matt has swiftly risen through the Atomhawk ranks to become a Senior Concept Artist, working on AAA projects for our clients across UK, Europe and America.
The Grads in Games Awards are designed to recognise the individuals and institutions that have made a real impact in improving links between the games industry and education.
The Impact Award, for which Matt is shortlisted, celebrates graduates and junior staff who have exceeded expectations in a studio role and made a valuable contribution to their own studio and the wider games industry.
